Photography Field Guides
I am still learning, and I always will be. Let’s make a photograph that teaches us something.
Double exposure: a portrait with another world inside
Combine a simple human shape with a texture from the world around it. Learn the two-frame process on the Fujifilm X-T2, then practise choosing what belongs together.
Movement: freeze the gesture or follow the flow
Use shutter speed and your own movement to choose how action feels. A sharp instant and a moving blur can both tell the truth of a moment.
Shadow play: make the missing light matter
Use a window, a wall and a little patience to build a photograph with shape. Learn to control a silhouette, separate a subject and make a shadow part of the composition.
