The first gathering / A simple photo walk
You don’t need
to arrive as an expert.
Bring your camera or your phone. Bring a friend, or come ready to meet one. If you would rather be in front of the lens, there is a place for you here too.
We’ll walk, notice the light, make portraits, swap ideas, and give each other room to practise. No portfolio requirement. No need for expensive equipment. Just curiosity and a willingness to connect.
I’m Cord Allman, a Vancouver photographer. I’m starting these gatherings because learning feels different when somebody is beside you, and a city feels smaller when you know a few more faces.

You don’t need professional experience to be photographed. Try a pose, suggest an idea, take a break, or simply enjoy the walk. Your comfort belongs in the picture.

Ask before photographing someone or suggesting a pose. Respect a no, give people space, and agree before sharing or posting their images. Keep the invitation kind and the atmosphere relaxed.
Keep the photographs free.
This gathering is free to join, and the photographs we agree to share with one another are free. Before a mini-session, agree on how you will exchange images and what each person is comfortable sharing. There is no promised image count or delivery time; make those arrangements together.
Come prepared to enjoy the walk.
Comfortable shoes, water, a charged phone or camera, and a little curiosity are plenty. If you have questions about access or taking part, ask Cord before coming so you can decide what works for you.
